First lets discuss the difference between a commercial tows, impound tows, and law enforcement tows.
1. A commercial tow is when you call our company directly and request a towing service. The towing rate will be very competitive and the environment will be non confrontational and we will be attempting to provide the best service possible to you as a customer.
2. An impound tow is where we are providing a service to an owner of a private property. This is our customer. We are towing the vehicle per their request. The environment is usually very hostile and can become violent at times, if the owner of the vehicle returns and is intoxicated or not understanding with the situation. It is our job to work with the owner of the property and the owner of the vehicle to provide a peaceful resolution, but our safety is our primary concern. This type of towing service is more expensive because of the potential hostile environment. There will also be a storage and mileage fee added to the cost, if the vehicle makes it to the impound yard.
3. A law enforcement tow takes priority over all other tows. Once we are dispatched we are not allowed to leave the scene of the incident and we may lose out on other towing jobs. Law enforcement tows are a contracted price and towing companies are usually on a towing rotation. These towing charges are usually done by the hour and there will also be storage fee's added to the total cost.
If you want to save money on law enforcement towing, Have the officer call a towing company of your choice. This is called a "PREFRENCE TOW REQUEST". You can use Canyon County Towing or you favorite Towing Company. Keep their card or number on you at all times. Then you will get the commercial rates! 371-3400
I have stopped at wreaks and slide offs to check on the safety of the people. once I know they are fine, I explain that I am leaving and I leave without saying anything else. I may not solicit my services in any way, nor may I offer any type of help that they will be charged for! If they were injured, I have stayed with them until EMS arrives and then I leave immediately.
