IMPOUND INFORMATION
If your vehicle has been impounded, we would like to do our best to get your vehicle back to you as soon as possible. We do not want your vehicle and we would like to explain the Rules and Reasons behind our rules.
Types of Impounds Private Party Impound This type of impound is associated with someone else other than the owner of the private property that does not have permission to park on it. Signs are posted to give the violator of this action notice that they may not park on their property, or they will be towed away. The towing company name and contact info will be posted on this sign.
Police Impound This type of impound is usually associated with an accident, arrest, or abandoned vehicle. The police contact their dispatch for a non preference tow from their police rotation. That tow company is dispatched to the vehicle and usually tows it to their secured impound facility. If the owner is at the scene of the accident, they may request for the vehicle to be towed elsewhere.
NOTE: Any person may request their own towing company to tow their vehicle and avoid the high costs of a police dispatched tow.
Why do police tows cost more than regular tows? First, it must be a fully trained and qualified tow operator. We also will dispatch our best trucks. This takes that person and truck out of service for at least one hour. When a tow truck is dispatched to a police tow, they are at that time under the authority of that police agency. They may not leave that tow / recovery, even if they get other calls or recoveries.last, most accidents that we work, damage equipment and trucks, must maintain high insurance on the trucks and the storage yard will not be picked up by the customer. The reason for this is no insurance, no money, or it was not their vehicle and the owner is not reachable. Private party Impounds Cost more because....Would you go tow a vehicle at the regular rate that has the potential of a person or people that will come running out to you with, weapons or the intent to cause grave bodily harm to you? I did not think so. This is why the drivers our paid hazardous pay for impounds.
What do you need to pick up an impounded vehicle? You need a state issued photo ID. You must be able to show that you are the registered. This is to protect your vehicle from being taken, photographed, or personal items taken from it.You must be 18 years of age to enter the yard, have closed tow shoes, and have a calm and not aggressive personality. We will not deal with people who are irate, drunk, and threaten any kind of violence.
